Acupuncture is used as a way of preventing disharmony or illness within the body. However if a disharmony already exists, acupuncture is used to restore balance within your body and mind, this is achieved by rebalancing the flow and quantity of qi and substances in your body. Therefore in theory any condition can be treated with acupuncture. Some conditions may completely disappear if the imbalance is not severe, but even for very chronic or severe conditions acupuncture could help you to manage the condition by decreasing the level of the imbalance and improving quality of life.

Common conditions treated

Migraines are a common neurological condition that 1 in 7 people suffer from in the UK. NICE recommend a course of up to 10 treatments over the space of 5-8 weeks in order to help prevent migraines. Link

Back pain is something that affects most of us at one stage or another in our lives.

Menstrual disorders/ menopausal symptoms can have difficult physical, psychological or behavioural symptoms that can be very difficult for women to deal with, and often suffer in silence. Acupuncture can be used to help treat these conditions. Link
